Bulk Freighters & Ships of the Great Lakes

From 1975 to 1979 I lived in Duluth, Minnesota, overlooking the entrance to the Duluth Ship Canal. It was easy to photograph the ships entering the harbor. The Duluth photos were all taken from 1976 to 1979. The earliest photos were taken with a half-frame camera. The prints were not very good quality, so the digital copies are also not so good. I have added a few river barges, as well as English Channel and Rhine River shipping. Photos by Gary L. Todd, Ph.D., Professor of History, Sias International University, Xinzheng, Henan, China.

Railway Museums

I’m somewhat of a closet railfan who grew up along the Illinois Central RR and rode the ICRR to and from the University of Illinois in the late 60s. These are copies of photos I took at several RR museums in the U.S. & Britain, mostly in the 1980s & early 90s, except for the one in England, which I took in 2003. Photos by Gary L. Todd, Ph.D., Professor of History, Sias International University, Xinzheng, Henan, China. http://picasaweb.google.com/GaryLeeTodd/RailwayMuseums#

Warbirds: Aircraft of World War II

My dad was a P-47 fighter pilot in World War II (see first picture) and aviation editor for the Rockford Newspapers, so I grew up around airplanes. These are all WW II aircraft still in operation, many owned and flown by the Confederate Air Force. Photos by Gary L.
